Advanced and Beginner Classes always start on the first week of the quarter. Our first class will be on Monday, March 29. All classes, beginners and advanced, are held at the Ford Center, San Diego Court (see map here) on Mondays and Wednesdays 7:30-9:00pm and on Sundays 4:00-6:00pm. Even though classes have started it's not too late to join, we welcome everybody throughout the quarter! Some of the instructors or other students can work with you! Even if you have absolutley no prior experience. If you have any concerns, please email us Please make sure to sign up for the muay thai list to receive important updates.Everyone should fill out one of the following waivers and bring it to your first class:
Student Waiver (Stanford students)
Non-Student Waiver (Staff, non-Stanford affiliates)
The beginners class (one quarter) covers basic Muay Thai moves, stance, techniques, and combinations. We focus on techniques and reflexes that are useful for self-defense in real life situations.
Some Monday classes emphasize refining moves and practicing advanced techniques others focus endurance and reflexes. Wednesday classes are taught by Momo Khan, a fighter from Mark Tabuso's gym, Evolve training center. Mark is a professional Muay Thai instructor with over 15 years of experience. Mo is currently his up and coming fighter and also UNDEFEATED thus far! See the instructors tab for more details.
The sparring class covers enhanced fighting techniques and strategies. Sparring is for advanced students only but beginning students are encouraged to come and watch.
